How to run my first ImageDev code?

Read carefully the Getting Started section corresponding to your programming language.

I am currently using the ImageViz extension of the Open Inventor toolkit.

What do I need to use ImageDev with Open Inventor?

To use Open Inventor for visualizing images generated by ImageDev, as it is possible with ImageViz, you need three components:

  • an Open Inventor distribution (10.10 or greater)
  • an ImageDev distribution
  • the OpenInventor/ImageDev Examples package
How to replace my ImageViz code by ImageDev?
  1. Download and unzip the OpenInventor/ImageDev Examples package corresponding to your ImageDev version, programming language and system requirements from the ImageDev download pages.
  2. Read the  ImageVizToImageDevPortingGuide document for the general information.
  3. Follow the README.md file for the installation procedure.
Does ImageDev provide the exact same level of feature as ImageViz?

Almost all the features available in ImageViz are in ImageDev. Exceptions are listed in the ImageVizToImageDevPortingGuide.pdf document

Will new features only be developed on ImageDev?

Yes. No new features will be added in ImageViz.

How to activate my ImageDev license?

You should have received an email from flex1647@flexnetoperations.com with your activation code(s) after having purchased ImageDev. You first need to download and install the Thermo Scientific License Manager (TLM) application.

Then, read the License Manager page to know how to activate your license with TLM.

If you are using floating licenses, read the  License Server Management page to know how to install, configure, and administrate your FlexNet license server.

Can I run ImageDev on Linux?

ImageDev 2022.2 provides prepacks for Ubuntu 18.04 (GCC 7).

ImageDev 2023.1 will provide prepacks for Ubuntu 20.04 (GCC 9).
